Straight after graduating with an Associate Diploma in Electrical Systems at TAFE, Queensland, Australia, Andrew Schmidt, who hails from Western Province, began a life of service as a certified electronics technician at Remington Technology on January 13, 1998.
Having spent more than two decades in the technical field, Andrew has witnessed the evolution of print technology. He has worked and trained under big brands such as Konica Minolta, Ricoh and Canon, contributing to Remington Technology’s efforts to meet the printing and business needs of individuals and corporates nationwide.
“It was all about the challenge for me, having to beat all odds to come out on top. This challenge allowed me to develop with the boom in technology, everyone played their part as one team which assisted the company move into the digital age”, Andrew said.
At the age of 46, Andrew serves as Technical Training and Support Manager.
Reminiscing about the day he joined Remington, Andrew says “there is never a dull moment when you’re working in a technical field. Despite the demands of the job, it’s the people who we work with every day to achieve goals that keep us going”.
With 25 years of service, from Trainee Technician to National Technical Training and Support Manager, Andrew believes that to climb the ranks, one must learn to be the best in their job and to never settle for less.
“I am passionate about seeing a positive outcome at the end of the day. The thing that drives me is seeing the staff achieving favorable outcomes when faced with tough situations, that experience has taught us something”, Andrew said.
